YMCA Youth Job Match

This province-wide program assists young, motivated individuals throughout BC gain experience, build skills, develop confidence, and through the support and guidance of YMCA program staff, overcome barriers to employment. Participants work with program staff to secure paid, full-time employment within high-demand occupations for a minimum period of 12 weeks.

Participant Eligibility
We are currently accepting applicants who meet the following criteria:
  • 15 to 30 years of age (at the time of selection)
  • Not in receipt of EI benefits (at start of program)
  • Not currently attending a secondary or post-secondary institution and non completion of post-secondary education
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada
Benefits for Employers:
  • A wage subsidy provided by the federal government that subsidizes $9.25 per hour of the employee’s wages
  • Industry-focused training that will help your organization meet the training needs of entry-level employees
  • Ongoing employer/employee support provided by YMCA program staff

Canada-BC Job Grant

The Canada-BC Job Grant helps employers offset the cost of training for current or new employees.

An employer can apply for the grant to provide workers with the training they need to upgrade their skills or get a job with their organization.

Career Connect - Wage Subsidy for Employers

LOOKING TO HIRE?

Career Connect will help employers hire eligible unemployed or underemployed graduates that will bring passion, energy and skills to your company.  In return you will be providing them with valuable industry experience.

If you are planning to hire an unemployed or underemployed post-secondary graduate for a fulltime ICT position (minimum 3 month term) then this program is for you!  Career Connect will subsidize half the eligible participant's salary up to $18,000.

Applications are now open for 2014-2014 with placements running until February 27, 2015.
