Taylor, at Milepost 37, on the Alaska Highway, sits on a plateau overlooking the Peace River and valley. The early settlers in this region were trappers and farmers, but today Taylor relies on oil, gas, lumber and pulp to keep the economy lively. Taylor on the Alaska Highway is only 60 km (37 mi.) north of Dawson Creek and 16 km (10 mi.) from Fort St John.

Incorporated in 1958, Taylor has a total area of 16.61 sq km.

POPULATION

Taylor has a population of 1,373 (2011 Census). According to BC Stats, the population was estimated at 1,553 (in 2012).
