Negotiated Financial Assistance

Negotiated Financial Assistance is available to EI-eligible or Reachback clients through the Community Coordinator.  In order to access this funding, you must be referred through an Employment Assistance Service in your area.

Canada Student Loans Program

Visit the National Student Loans Service Centre to learn how student loans work, to find out what you need to know before applying, or for information.

BC Student Assistance Program

BCSAP was created to help eligible students with the costs of post-secondary studies. It is a needs-based program, which exists to supplement, not replace, funds available to students through other sources.

Northern Lights College Awards

Northern Lights College offers several programs to recognize student achievement and to provide financial aid to those who require assistance to meet basic educational costs. In addition, awards and sponsorship programs administered by agencies external to the college are available to students.

University of Northern BC Financial Aid

The Awards, Financial Aid and Student Employment Centre helps students to obtain the funds necessary to finance their UNBC education and to provide educational budgeting services. Funds may be obtained from a variety of sources, including government and bank loans, private, corporate, and public scholarships and bursaries; UNBC awards; work-study; and employment opportunities.

Canadian Natural Resources Scholarships

Scholarships of up to $3,000 are available for technical or trades training related to the oil & natural gas industry.  The Building Futures program assists students in communities near Canadian Natural field operations.

Canadian Institute of Geomatics

Funded by Natural Resources Canada and GeoConnections and administered annually by the Canadian Institute of Geomatics (CIG), this scholarship was created to assist students enrolled in a post secondary institution in the field of Geomatics.

The program includes four (4) graduate level University Scholarships of $2,500, eight (8) undergraduate level University Scholarships of $2,000 and eight (8) College/Technical Institute Scholarships of $1,500 awarded annually and distributed throughout the geomatics disciplines.

Foundation for the Advancement of Aboriginal Youth

Operated by Canadian Council for Aboriginal Business, the Foundation for the Advancement of Aboriginal Youth is the scholarship and bursary program dedicated to developing the next generation of Aboriginal leaders.

TD Canada Trust

Your outstanding and consistent concerns for the improvement of your community, could make you eligible for a scholarship to cover the cost of your post-secondary education.  Each scholarship is valued at up to $60,000 and includes -

  • Up to $10,000 for tuition per year
  • $5,000 a year toward living expenses
  • An offer of summer employment
Toyota Earth Day Scholarships

Because environmental issues are increasingly being tackled through multidisciplinary approaches, future environmental leaders will come from a broad range of academic backgrounds. The Toyota Earth Day Scholarship is offered to students entering their first year of post-secondary studies in the discipline of their choice, to prepare themselves for the career of their choice.

The Toyota Earth Day Scholarship Program grants 15 awards of $5000 each annually, to be applied directly towards tuition, books, room and board (where applicable) or other educational expenses for the first year of post-secondary full-time studies in Canada.
